Discover Nara Candle by Astier de Villatte.
Nara, a serene Japanese town, is renowned for its majestic temples, shrines, and a park where deer roam freely. Among its treasures is the century-old Nara Hotel, a haven favoured by dignitaries, offering a peaceful retreat. Wandering through the towns winding alleys, the air is infused with the exquisite fragrance of sandalwood, its warm and comforting aroma delicately enhanced by the sweet and sensual presence of jasmine.
This fragrance, crafted in collaboration with Christophe Raynaud, features essences of sandalwood amyris, sambac jasmine, ginger roots, cashmeran, and amber.
The candles wax formulation is plant-based with a touch of beeswax, creating a uniquely pure composition. Free from paraffin and petrochemical derivatives, it burns without soot. Its soft and pliable texture ensures a perfect fusion with the perfume, releasing the scent both when cold and warm. The pure cotton wick guarantees clean and consistent burning, lasting 60 to 70 hours depending on the fragrance.
The tumbler, handcrafted from blown glass in Tuscany, has a transparent, slightly grey hue with delicate bubbles, lending it a timeless and distinctive charm. Labels and packaging are lead-printed on vintage presses by SAIG, one of the last remaining typographic workshops in the world.
